What is Self-Defense?

Hypnotic Neuro-Linguistic Programming (HNLP) delves into how language and behavior shape our perception of reality. By understanding how language, thoughts, and actions impact us, we can recognize how they have shaped our worldview. HNLP aids in overcoming limiting beliefs, undesirable habits, negative responses, and harmful behaviors. Through HNLP, we can effortlessly and organically boost personal growth, healing, professional performance, and relationships.

The HNLP Coaching model allows you to pinpoint the triggers leading to unresourceful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By altering the neurological impact of these triggers, you gain access to a wider range of options.

What are the benefits of Self-Defense? (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual)

HNLP, a modern methodology derived from NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), emphasizes positivity, proactivity, goal-setting, and long-term performance improvement. While both NLP and HNLP focus on enhancing performance, HNLP takes a more humanistic, holistic, and organic approach compared to the technique-centered classic NLP. A fundamental principle of HNLP suggests that you possess greater potential than you realize, as you are more complex than you believe. This concept stems from the understanding that your current perceptions are constrained by how your neurology processes information. Your internal representations and states primarily influence your actions rather than external factors. Beyond your restricted perceptions lie your True Self and vast capabilities.

Is Self-Defense right for me?

Ultimately, whether HNLP is right for you depends on your willingness to engage in introspection, your openness to personal growth, and your commitment to positive change. If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, HNLP may be just what you are looking for.

Why do I believe in Self-Defense?

The first time I recall intentionally harming myself, I was 12, I wanted to die. I did not understand then what I know now about the power and importance of our beliefs and how they shape our behavior.

I began to cope in a very subtle, very destructive way. I developed an eating disorder that the next 10 years of my life revolved around. It was not until I went to college that I realized that I was sick. I no longer had to hide my need to starve or purge from anyone, and very quickly, it became apparent to me I needed help. Humiliated, I sought the help of specialists, therapists, accountability partners, and every book I could get my hands on about disordered eating. By the age of 22, I thought I had cured myself last, and one lonely Thanksgiving, I received a heap of leftovers from a friend, and there I went, eating more in 20 minutes than I had eaten in the last week, so full, so sick I began to purge.

I had just returned from a trip to Paris, where I had met a mutual friend who worked as an eating disorder coach using HNLP. I called her, and there it was in a 90-minute call, I found peace and answers, and I was able to rewrite beliefs I had been struggling with for the last decade. Sceptical and amazed I went on to explore a new way of working with and changing my belief systems to change my behaviors to change my life.

I went on to study HNLP and have been practicing these, amongst other coaching techniques, with clients for over four years. Using beliefs, behaviors, ownership, and empowerment to help clients align with their ever-expanding lives.
